Glocknerkönig
The Glocknerkönig is considered one of the most prestigious and toughest cycling challenges in the SalzburgerLand. Once a year, both professional and ambitious amateur cyclists compete on the legendary course, which leads through breathtaking alpine landscapes and features steep climbs that demand everything from the participants.
The race starts in the town center of Bruck an der Glocknerstraße and finishes either at the Fuscher Törl at 2.428 m (Classic) or at the Edelweißspitze at 2.571 m (Ultra). Riders must conquer either 1.672 vertical meters over 27.3 km or 1.815 vertical meters over 28.9 km, with gradients ranging between 10 and 12 percent – a true challenge, even for seasoned cyclists!
Are you ready to take on this royal sporting challenge? Or would you prefer to experience the excitement as a spectator and cheer on the determined cyclists as they battle their way up Austria’s highest mountain?
